Conductance Through Two Quantum Dots in a Ring: Magnetic Flux Dependence
نویسندگان
چکیده
The conductance of a double-dot system in a ring threaded by a magnetic flux is studied. The ring is connected to two leads in such a way that each dot is embedded in one arm of the structure. The currents going through each arm of the ring are determined by the Aharonov-Bohm effect and the dot charging effects. The conductance for different values of the magnetic flux is obtained as a function of the gate potentials applied to the dots, for two situations: when the dot level energies are equal, ∆E = 0, and when they are different but with ∆E smaller than the Coulomb interaction U . The conductance shows quite distinct behavior according to having a finite or zero magnetic flux threading the ring. The system presents S = 1/2 and S = 1 Kondo phenomena for no magnetic flux and is in the S = 1/2 Kondo regime in the case of half a quantum of magnetic flux.

Effect of asymmetric quantum dot rings in electron transport through a quantum wire
The electronic conductance at zero temperature through a quantum wire with side-connected asymmetric quantum ring (as a scatter system) is theoretically studied using the non-interacting Hamiltonian Anderson tunneling method. In this paper we concentrate on the configuration of the quantum dot rings. We show that the asymmetric structure of QD-scatter system strongly influences the amplitude an...

We obtain exact analytical expressions for the electronic transport through a multi-channel system, also with an applied magnetic field. The geometrical structure of the electrodes is found to cause a splitting of the conduction band into many subbands, depending on the number and the length of the chains and the conductance approaches zero when the chain number is sufficiently large, due to qu...
متن کاملEffects of interactions in transport through Aharonov-Bohm-Casher interferometers.
We study the conductance through a ring described by the Hubbard model (such as an array of quantum dots), threaded by a magnetic flux and subject to Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). We develop a formalism that is able to describe the interference effects as well as the Kondo effect when the number of electrons in the ring is odd. In the Kondo regime, the SOC reduces the conductance from the u...
متن کاملConductance through strongly interacting rings in amagnetic field
We study the conductance through finite Aharonov-Bohm rings of interacting electrons weakly coupled to noninteracting leads at two arbitrary sites. This model can describe an array of quantum dots with a large charging energy compared to the interdot overlap. As a consequence of the spin-charge separation, which occurs in these highly correlated systems, the transmittance is shown to present pr...
